About Beth Campbell
Experience & Values
Striving to make learning opportunities relevant, authentic, and meaningful for students has been Beth Campbell’s daily passion for more than 40 years. With experience gained from her years as a first-grade teacher, a teacher librarian (where she built multiple vibrant library media programs and opened two new libraries), and an Innovative Technology Coach, Beth embraces the power of possibility. With an eye always focused on the future, she is a firm believer that learning should be collaborative and student-centered, while grounded in creativity, communication, critical thinking, and authentic opportunities.
Innovation
Beth has had extensive experience elevating authentic student voice, working with teachers and students. Not only does student inquiry drive the learning process, but the demonstration of their new ideas is showcased through podcasting, blogging, creating multimedia and extensive project-based learning opportunities. Beth’s innovative work with students’ podcasting can be found on iTunes, Voiced.Ca and other hosting platforms.
Along with Sarah Vice, Beth co-designed the visual instructional framework of Design.Drive.Do, and she is the only teacher to be honored as Iowa Technology Teacher of the Year (by ITEC) on two occasions.
Education
Beth received her B.S. degree from Concordia, NE and her Masters in Library Science from the University of Iowa. She also holds an endorsement in Gifted Education and is a National Geographic Certified Educator.
